JOB DESCRIPTIONS:
Our client is urgently looking for the qualified Waiter to start working ASAP. Empact Group requires the services of reputable Waiter. You may apply before deadline in case you are interested and have required qualifications as short-listed below.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
The applicant wishing to apply for this job must meet the following qualifications;
- Must have Matric (Grade 12)
- Must have minimum of 1-year experience as a waiter in catering environment
- Must have Butler or Housekeeping experience.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
The applicant must have the following skills and competences
- Must have knowledge of and compliance with food safety standards.
- Must have proven work experience as a Waiter or Waitress
- Must have hands-on experience with cash register and ordering information system
- Must have basic math skills
- Must have attentiveness and patience for customers
- Must have excellent presentation skills
- Must have strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment
- Must have active listening and effective communication skills
- Team spirit
- Must have flexibility to work in shifts.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful candidate will have to implement the following duties but not limited to:
- To greet and escort customers to their tables
- To present menu and provide detailed information when asked
- To prepare tables by setting up linens, silverware, and glasses
- To inform customers about the day’s specials
- To offer menu recommendations upon request
- Up-sell additional products when appropriate
- To take accurate food and drinks orders, using a POS ordering software, order slips or by memorization
- To communicate order details to the Kitchen Staff
- To check dishes and kitchenware for cleanliness and presentation and report any problems
- To arrange table settings and maintain a tidy dining area
- To deliver checks and collect bill payments
- To carry dirty plates, glasses, and silverware to kitchen for cleaning
- To meet with restaurant staff to review daily specials, changes on the menu and service specifications for reservations (e.g., parties)
- To follow all relevant health department regulations
- To provide excellent customer service to guests.
