JOB DESCRIPTIONS:
Our client is urgently looking for the qualified Lowbed Driver to start working ASAP. Fraseralexander requires the services of reputable Lowbed Driver. You may apply before deadline in case you are interested and have required qualifications as short-listed below.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
The applicant wishing to apply for this job must meet the following qualifications;
- Must have Grade 12 or equivalent
- Must have valid Code 14 Driver’s License with PrDP.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
The applicant must have the following skills and competences
- Must be punctual, reliable in meeting delivery deadlines
- Route planning and navigation
- Must be patience and resilience under stressful driving conditions
- Must have strong attention to detail and safety awareness
- Good communication
- Must have good interpersonal skills
- Must have ability to work independently and in remote areas
- Record-keeping
- Must have ability to handle and secure heavy equipment
- Must be physically fit to handle securing loads and climbing on/off equipment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful candidate will have to implement the following duties but not limited to:
- To operate lowbed truck to load, secure, transport, and offload heavy/oversized equipment.
- To conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck and trailer, ensuring roadworthiness.
- To ensure proper loading techniques, including correct use of chains, binders, and securing devices.
- To comply with traffic laws, road transport regulations, and permit requirements for abnormal loads.
- To complete delivery and collection documentation (logbooks, trip sheets, delivery notes).
- To monitor vehicle condition and report any defects or maintenance requirements.
- To adhere to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) procedures at all times.
- To coordinate with site Supervisors, Diesel Mechanics, and logistics teams regarding delivery schedules.
- To assist in minor maintenance or adjustments to secure loads when necessary.
