JOB DESCRIPTIONS:
Our client is urgently looking for the qualified K9 Handler to start working ASAP. Fidelity Services Group requires the services of reputable K9 Handler. You may apply before deadline in case you are interested and have required qualifications as short-listed below.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
The applicant wishing to apply for this job must meet the following qualifications;
- Must have Grade 12 (Matric).
- Must have valid PSIRA registration.
- Must have valid K9 Handler qualification.
- Must have valid driver’s license (Code B or higher).
- Having previous security, military, or law enforcement experience advantageous.
- Must be physically fit and capable of operating in challenging environments.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
The applicant must have the following skills and competences
- Must have strong observation and situational awareness.
- Must have good communication and reporting skills.
- Must have ability to work under pressure.
- Teamwork and discipline.
- Must have knowledge of security procedures and legislation.
- Must have effective handling and control of working dogs.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful candidate will have to implement the following duties but not limited to:
- To conduct routine and ad-hoc patrols along rail corridors, substations, depots, and other Transnet assets.
- To utilize K9 capabilities to detect, track, and apprehend suspects were legally permitted.
- To assist with searching for stolen property, hidden suspects, and evidence.
- To support rapid response operations following security incidents.
- To maintain a visible security presence to deter criminal activities.
- To respond immediately to alarms, reports of cable theft, trespassing, vandalism, and other incidents.
- To conduct tracking operations using K9 resources.
- To assist law enforcement agencies when required.
- To secure crime scenes until handed over to relevant authorities.
- To compile incident reports and submit them within prescribed timeframes..
