JOB DESCRIPTIONS:
Our client is urgently looking for the qualified Bus Driver to start working ASAP. Unitrans requires the services of reputable Bus Driver. You may apply before deadline in case you are interested and have required qualifications as short-listed below.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
The applicant wishing to apply for this job must meet the following qualifications;
- Must have Grade 12/ National Certificate
- Must have driver’s license categories: CE – G, CE – PG, and C – G.
- Must have experience at least 5 years of experience in the same or similar position.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
The applicant must have the following skills and competences
- Must have own reliable transport to and from work
- Must have ability to handle heavy equipment and machinery used in cleaning
- Must have ability to walk, bend, push, pull and lift repetitively during working hours
- Must have knowledge of cleaning chemicals, proper storage and disposal methods
- Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to work as a team
- Must have excellent organizational skills a must
- Must have self-motivation and the ability to identify and complete needed tasks without direct supervision
- Must be able to carry out all reasonable instructions from Supervisor.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful candidate will have to implement the following duties but not limited to:
- To read, understand, and accept the code of conduct
- Unitrans Passenger rules and regulations
- To read and understand the drivers manual
- To report near misses and/or incidents and property damage even if you were not involved
- To read and understand HST regulations and policies
- To avoid involvement in incidents and accidents as much as possible when driving
- To recognize the importance of safety and practice safe habits
- Immediately report any incidents or related matters to Management
- To know all written procedures involved in your activities
- To inspect the bus for deviations from standards or malfunctions
- To record deviations/defects in the check checklist and report to supervisor
- Depending on the nature of the deviation/malfunction, the driver will either start the journey or not until the deviation/malfunction is resolved
- To participate in the DSS session with the Supervisor and HST at the Unitrans parks and Vulcan Site.
