JOB DESCRIPTIONS:
Our client is urgently looking for the qualified Artisan Diesel Mechanic to start working ASAP. Unitrans requires the services of reputable Artisan Diesel Mechanic. You may apply before deadline in case you are interested and have required qualifications as short-listed below.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
The applicant wishing to apply for this job must meet the following qualifications;
- Must have Grade 12/ National Certificate
REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
The applicant must have the following skills and competences
- Must have strong Diesel engine and mechanical repair skill
- Fault-finding and diagnostic capability
- Must be computer literate
- Must have ability to work independently and accurately
- Must have problem solving ability
- Must have valid driver’s licence.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful candidate will have to implement the following duties but not limited to:
- Service depot fleet in accordance with predefined service schedules and inspection checklists.
- To perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance to identify potential mechanical issues before failure occurs.
- To ensure all servicing activities comply with manufacturer specifications and company standards.
- To maintain accurate service and maintenance records.
- To attend to breakdowns and carry out fault finding, diagnostics, and repairs on diesel-powered vehicles and earth moving equipment.
- To perform mechanical repairs on engines, transmissions, braking systems, hydraulics, and auxiliary systems.
- To test equipment after repairs to ensure safe and reliable operation.
- To provide breakdown support during operational or peak production periods as required.
